New Time, Same Channel
Starting on Monday I am going part time at work.  New hours, 6pm to midnight.  No more daycare needed!  It will be interesting working that late.  I've been weeing myself into in the last week.  On Monday I worked til 8:30pm and then switched shifts with one of the newbies for the rest of the week.  He got my 7am to 3pm shifts and I'm working til 10:15pm.  He loves me this week cause he hates the late shift and says he is going to bring me flowers today.  Plus today will be the last day many of my coworkers will see me.  Anyone off before 5:45pm will not be seeing me anymore.  There are many disappointed people at work.  You'd think I was the only reason why they get up in the morning with the way they are going on.  Anyways, off to work.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I can be reached on my cellphone again.  My dad found it on Monday.

I'm Very Hurt Right Now
I know this going to make me sound petty.  But I don't care.   My feelings are extremely hurt right now and I need to vent.

Everyone always talks about the things to expect when you are pregnant or have just giving birth.

One of those things.... the baby shower.

Everyone who has ever had a baby while working where I work has had a baby shower.

My boss mentioned to me about having one for me over a year ago.

It never happened.

I wasn't happy then about it but I forgot about it and moved on.

Today I get an email because they are planning a shower for one of my co-workers that just gave birth to her 4th child.

I always thought people at work liked me.   I'm kinda wondering if maybe that isn't the case.

Clever Boy
Tristan is quite the little problem solver for only 14 months old,

Tonight he was playing with a picture frame that we need to hang.  Daddy took it away from him so he wouldn't break it.  He placed it on the other side of the baby gate where Tristan couldn't reach it.  Tristan did not like this one bit.

He tried to get it by using his "Boom Stick" (a christmas wrapping tube) by reaching under the baby gate with it.

He also finds the easier way to do things.  For example, his shape sorter.  He just lifts the lid off and puts the shape blocks in that way.  He seems to think it is quite clever.

Forgot to Put in Yesterday's Post
Tristan is also saying "bye bye".  He said it first time when the babysitter and her mom were leaving.  He was waving too.  It was so cute.

The Little Man Is Growing Up!
Tristan is walking!  He has been doing it off and on for months now but today he was walking all over the place.  I think he was showing off for the cute 15 year old babysitter we were interviewing for him today.  I think he might have his first crush.

Who Wants to Bring Me Chicken Soup
Now that I know that I am not contagious I am even more lonely.  I love Tristan and Ernie dearly but I've been trapped in the house since Wednesday of last week.

I have a bad case of broncitis. The second bout in a little over a month.  As the doctor says it is severally complicating my asthma.  My dad drove me to the doctors and just that wore me out so bad.  I've been put on another round of antibiotics (so that will be two batches currently, one for the leg and one of the lung infection) and she's changed my steroid inhaler to a oral steroid.  It's all the just so much fun keeping track of all the pills I have to pop through out the day.

The cough appears to be getting better (knock on wood) so I was able to finally get some sleep at 2am with morning til Tristan woke up at 3am and then again at 5am.  Good timing that boy.

Today would be my 5th day off work.  If I'm not there tomorrow I'll be put on short term leave again.  I hate dealing with the insurance jerks at sunlife.  But if I go back too early I'm risking more than just a headache.

*groan*

I need hugs.

I am such a baby when I am sick.  Apologies.

Back to the Grindstone
So yesterday was my first day back to work.  And MAN do I feel loved!  People are running up to me in the hallways and hugging me.  Everyone says they missed me a lot and that it wasn't the same without me.  Even new people that came after I went off on leave were saying it was nice to meet me finally (seems that some people like to talk about me).  Good things only.  It's a huge ego boost.  Which I've needed.  I love Tristan like no other but he is pretty independent for a baby and sometimes I just feel like I'm just there to make sure he doesn't get hurt.  Plus I miss adults!  Anyways, it is good to be back.  Let's see how I feel in two weeks when my training is over and I am back on the phones.

Fun eral For My Mat-Leave
I'm going back to work next week.  Not looking forward to being away from Tristan so much.  It's going to be tough.  What really sucks is I didn't get to really enjoy my time with him over the last month and a bit.  At the end of November, Ernie got sick (he was sick for Tristan's 1st Birthday) and he was sick for about 3 weeks.  I got sick with bronchitis during this and right when I was getting over that I fell down some stairs at work on December 21st and mucked up my ankle and shin.  I'm still not healed.  Then Ernie got sick again this weekend.  And now me and Tristan are sick.  Plus Tristan is also seriously teething (getting in at least two bicuspids).

I hope I don't have to call in sick on my first day back.

Solstice Day
We spend Christmas out at my dad's and now with Tristan we deal with way more presents and also a Christmas tree (at our place, not my dad's) so this year we started something new.  Presents from us and people that mailed presents to Tristan will be opened up the morning after the winter solstice.  This way Tristan still gets to open presents under a tree and we don't have to cart as many presents out to my dad's and back.

Well, that day is today and this morning we opened our presents.  We spent two hours, at least, opening Tristan's presents because we were trying to get him to do as much of it as possible.

Tristan received from Santa a Rock and Roll Tigger (it is a rocker horse but instead of a horse it is Tigger and it converts into a ride on toy when he gets older).  From mom and dad he got Quatchi ( the sasquatch 2010 mascot), some wooden blocks by Melissa and Doug and a t-shirt to wear at a family Christmas Eve party that says "I'm on the nice list... (trust me).  From Grandma Dandy he got a lion that sing play songs by day and lullabies by night, some books, and a pretend puppy that he can walk.  From "Auntie" Laurel he got a big bag of MegaBlocks (he loves them), and a hat with leopard ears.

Daddy got his new bike which he has know about for months and got to pick it up today.  He also got from Tristan a pair of camouflage slippers and from me, a sweater and gift certificate from Old Navy).

As for me, Ernie gave me a gift bag with a HBC bear in it which was suppose to be holding a gorgeous heart pendant with amethyst and rubies (that fell to the bottom of the bag).

Klutz is Back
I'm baaaaack!

I fell down some stairs at work yesterday. I landed with my shin right into the edge of one of the stairs. I sprained my ankle and have a really ugly bruise covering most of my shin.

And I was also carrying Tristan when it happened. He is okay. He thought it was a ride or something, laughing the entire time.

Since finding out I was pregnant last year I started being really careful to keep the klutz at bay. Not really certain what happened yesterday.

Baby Firsts
Tristan had his first taste of Indian food outside the womb. He had some garlic Naan and a bit of Allo Mutter. I think he really liked it. But it will probably be his last until he is potty trained because "peeee-ewww". And this evening while getting ready for his bath he peed on the floor. Thankfully, not the carpeted floor, just on the tiles in the bathroom. The joys of being a mom.

I Live!
Yep, I'm still alive. Not much to post, although, gromm gets after me to post more about all the things Tristan does. Anyways, I am mostly being a mom. We did get a babysitter on Saturday and got to go to SinCity. I need to go more, it helps my fragile mommy ego. I had many fans.

Tristan is turning 1 in less than a week. INSANE! How time flies. For those of you that haven't RSVP'd yet, please let me know ASAP.

Baby Fresh
My son was getting fresh with all the girl babies at the Brentwood Mall play area today. He kept groping their butts and I think he may have copped a front feel or two too. Like father like son!

I also got several very high compliments from several of the parents. They said my baby was the cutest one there, even cuter than their baby! That is like the highest compliment you can get from another parent.

Tristan had tons of fun. He loves the Brentwood Mall play area. We were there for 4 hours!

Our day started out horribly. Tristan was up from 2am to 5am teething. Nothing helped. When he finally woke up this morning it was just after 9am and I had to rush around to try to get us out before 10am. We had a play date at 10am at the mall. We never made it in time. Once we got there no one was left of the group I was meeting. Why so late? Tristan's stroller wouldn't open and after fighting with it for half an hour I tried to forced it open and broke it even more. I bought one of those cheap umbrella strollers at the mall. I hope we can get the stroller fixed. It is a very expensive stroller.
